History/Company Profile:
Shells Seafood Restaurants, Inc. currently manages and operates 27 full service, mid-priced, casual dining seafood restaurants under the name “Shells” in Florida. The first Shells restaurant was opened in Tampa, Florida in 1985.Shells restaurants offer an extensive menu featuring a wide variety of seafood items, including shrimp, oysters, clams, scallops, lobster, crab, crawfish and daily fresh fish specials, cooked to order in a variety of ways: restaurants offer a wide selection of signature chicken and pasta dishes, appetizers, salads and desserts.
Shells common stock is traded on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol SHLL.OB.The Shells concept is designed to appeal to a broad range of customers by serving generous portions of high-quality seafood and offering friendly and efficient service at an attractive price point.Shells has developed a prototypical image of its restaurants, identifiable by the exterior “Shells” logo sign and a common interior color scheme and design. Shells restaurants are decorated with a tropical islands flair, bright colors, and cheerful signage to create a high-energy, casual atmosphere consistent with the Shells concept.

Health Insurance:
Shells Health Insurance Plan is provided by Blue Cross & Blue Shield. The waiting period for health benefits is 90 days from the date of employment with Shells.

 

Life Insurance:
Shells provides life insurance coverage by Canada Life Assurance Company at no cost to you upon completion of 90 days employment. Optional Voluntary Term Life coverage is available.

 

Short and Long Term Disability Insurance:
An income replacement policy by Canada Life Assurance Company to provide financial protection in the event of non-work related injury or illness. Eligibility after 90 days of employment.

 

Dental Insurance:
Immediate eligibility in the Guardian Dental Plan, Inc.

 

401(k) / Retirement Planning:
Shells offers a 401(k) Plan through Co-Advantage Resources with company contributions. Managers are eligible to enroll in the 401(k) Plan after completing the 90 days of employment.

 

Bonus Plan:
Shells bonus program offers Managers the chance to earn a bonus based on store performance in sales, guest counts and cost controls. Managers are eligible to participate in the bonus program once they have successfully completed the Training Program and are assigned to their home store.

 

Paid Vacation:
Shells provides 1 week paid vacation to all new Managers after their first 6 months of employment. Vacation is later earned throughout each year of service.


• 1 to 4 Years of Service: 2 Weeks Paid Vacation
• 5 to 9 Years of Service: 3 Weeks Paid Vacation
• 10+ Years of Service: 4 Weeks Paid Vacation

 

Shells Great Casual Eating Plan:
As a Manager at Shells, you are provided your meals during scheduled shifts. You are also encouraged to dine at other Shells locations with your family on days off.

 

Shells Manager’s Uniform Allowance:
Shells provides a $200 annual uniform allowance toward the purchase of Shells logo Manager shirts. The shirts are high quality and look sharp – just what we expect from our Managers.
