History/Company Profile:
Back in 1969, Dan Evins opened the very first Cracker Barrel Old Country
Store® in Lebanon, Tennessee. When he started out, he had some
pretty simple, but very sound values that still guide our company
to this day.
Dan’s philosophy can be summed up in two simple words: pleasing
people. To us that means not only giving everyone who walks in the
front door a warm welcome and a good meal at a fair price, but it
also being good to all the people we work with and do business with.
It means showing respect to co-workers, vendors and suppliers alike.
It means always being honest and truthful and never forgetting how
important every single person in the company is to our mutual success.
Even though today we have over 534 locations in 42 states across the
country, we think you’ll find that those simple values and guiding
principals that were true back in 1969 in Lebanon are still true today.
Of course, a lot of the credit for that goes to Dan Evins who today
is the chairman of the company. And, if you’re ever in Lebanon,
stop by Cracker Barrel for lunch.
Chances are you’ll find Dan there. The Cracker Barrel concept
is a family style dining experience where you can enjoy good a good
home cooked meal. Not only do they serve 3 meals a day, but you can
also shop in the Country Store and purchase a variety of items.

Cracker Barrel is a family restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch
and dinner to our guests. We are one of the highest volume family
dining concepts in the country. Our stores are open at 6:00am every
morning, ready to serve our guests.
