Locations:
Currently 75+ Cheesecake Factory units across the country in major
markets. There are eight Grand Lux Café units, 2 in TX, 1 in
IL, 1 in NV, 1 in CA, 1 in NY and 2 in FL.
History/Company Profile:
Publicly held company (CAKE) since 1992 operating casual upscale dining
restaurants nationwide. Each location has its own distinctive architecture
and stylish décor with emphasis on superior guest service and
an extensive 200-item menu offering generous portions at moderate
prices. Cheesecake menu is 250+. The Lux Café concept is a
Venetian theme-a combination of Italian trattorias and French bistros.
The menu is eclectic Tai, Malaysian, Caribbean with American fare.
The large portions are made to share. Cheesecake Factory: In the late
1940’s Evelyn Overton opened a small cheesecake shop in Detroit
to support raising her two children supplying local restaurant clients
with her cheesecakes. With the children grown, Evelyn and her husband,
Oscar, moved to Los Angeles in 1972 and grew the business marketing
to restaurants there. As the business grew, so did their facilities
and in 1978 the Overtons started their own first full serve restaurant
in Beverly Hills. The company also operates today a bakery production
facility, which produces over 50 varieties of its signature cheesecakes
and other baked goods for sale at its restaurants and other food service
distributors.

Management Profile:
Minimum 2 years full serve experience in a high volume concept, usually
around $4 million annual sales. No more than 3 jobs in the last 5
years. There are two career paths with this company, either FOH or
BOH, they do not cross over. Prefer corporate experience, at the very
least a structured environment.
Growth:
Growth is expected to be 2-3 units per year in major markets. Grand
Lux Café is about 2 units per year currently.
